It’s the future, and there’s a great divide in rainy Tokyo. Upper City separates itself from Lower City, where the streets are filthy and the people hungry for salvation, but life goes on, because in Tokyo, Upper City is the one in control.
Dream Chasing is illegal in the Lower City parts. Only the elite, all in Upper City, may indulge in going into someone else’s dream. A Dream Chaser, a person with a strong imagination, has the ability to go into a dream and harvest energy from it. Dream Energy can be sold for profit.
Peter Steel lives in a dystopian Lower City. He’s almost eighteen and is living the dream cleaning Upper City’s drains. Despite his job and shelter, he has one thing to fall back onto his passion for drawing. Peter also wants to be a Dream Chaser, but he’s a Lower City resident, and that means he’ll always be a nothing. But that all changes when his friend, Ohko – a cocaine snorting narcissist who hangs out with the wrong people – tells him something that will change his life forever.
Peter soon learns that Dream Chasing isn’t all that; staying alive in the real world will be the hard part.

This is a story about a boy with a dream of being a dream chaser. Dream chasers go into others dreams and cause the production of dream energy, a liquid form of energy. Problem is Peter was born in the wrong part of town and is not allowed to be a chaser. If only, Peter has a vivid imagination, he has everything that is needed to be a chaser but still law will not allow him to be one, but what if there was a way? Peter may get his chance, through a good friend. Ohko a ruthless street boy may have his answer, but what price will Peter have to pay for his onetime chance. This story is well written and the characters are well defined. This is part 1 and I cannot wait to read part 2 even though the ending was lacking because you have to read part 2 to get any further in the story. Due to violent descriptions within the story I would recommend this read to those over age 14.Product details

The book was a good one and it suited me really good. It is inappropriate for children under 10 due to constant swearing
I liked the build up of Peter's character and found myself connecting with him. Towards the end, the pace picked up quickly that I didn't notice that I was coming to the end. So I was surprised by the cliff hanger, but what a Great one! I want book 2!! I got invested in Peter's story. I have to know what happens to him next.
A short, very short, story but filled with action. Events happen one after another and very quickly. Had the author decided to make this a long novel and expand on the characters and story it would be a very good read. Book one ends, sort of, and leaves you wanting to read book two ( author's intention). Overall the world and characters and story that were created was good.

Story could have been good, but was seriously lacking.
Boy lives in poor end of town and wants what the rich have. A gang kidnaps him, forces him to dream chase for them, finds out his is special, kills everyone he knows and loves then takes him for a ride... he know not where. On the ride they are attacked.... the end
